Kelly Meggs is a Husband, Father, and Grandfather, who has spent his entire life helping others during Hurricanes here in Florida. This was the primary reason he joined Oath Keepers, disaster relief.
Prior to his arrest for the events of January 6th, he did multiple disaster relief efforts, and sponsored the Vietnam Traveling Wall at the dealership where he was the General Manager. He had never been arrested prior to the events of January 6th, and should not have been on that day, either.
Mr. Meggs has shown the evidence that his only actions in and around the Capitol that day were in assistance to US Capitol Police officers. He was not charged with any assaults, or property damage. In his trial, 2 Officers lied under oath, and he has the evidence to prove it. He was excited about the opportunity to show the world on appeal, the injustice that had occurred.
But after receiving the schedule from the appellate court, he was faced with the reality that this can drag on for many more years, and prevent him from regaining meaningful employment. He has chosen instead to ask the Trump Administration for a pardon, because his family has suffered enough.
His wife Connie was also imprisoned for 15 months, during which time they could not speak at all. He is ready for this nightmare of the Biden regime to end. He is innocent, and like so many others proclaiming their innocence, he actually has the proof.
He is grateful for receiving the commutation, but he needs to get pardoned so his family can once again enjoy the life they once had.
